If I have the money to spend on a nice MacBook and the software (i.e. Just in case you were interested, I have now fallen in love with my Mac. If you want, tell me what you would prefer and give me details as to why. If you use this software, how do you like them? What are some of the good features about it? What are some of the disadvantages if the software? SongShow Plus doesn’t support Windows 7 or 64-bit architecture. Software isn’t much of problem, now that most major software out there support both platforms.ĭo any of you out there use EasyWorship, MediaShout or SongShow Plus? I downloaded trials of EasyWorship and MediaShout but have yet to try them out. However, if you have a bigger budget, I would say go for the Mac. You can still use ProPresenter if you want to and produce and edit some nice audio and video. If you have a lower budget, then PC would be the way to go.

So what’s the big deciding factor for Mac or PC? I think cost would be a big one. I produce video for the church almost every week, and I purchased the software out of my own pocket, but the good thing is, is that PowerDirector 9 will only cost you $59.99. But, I am on a limited budget (as is the church). I disagree with this, although I would love to have a copy of Final Cut and a nice Mac to run it with. I’ve heard people say if you’re going to do video work, that Mac is the only way to go. I’ve been using Cyberlink’s PowerDirector (currently using version 9, which has been optimized for better HD-rending on a 64-bit system). I do some intermediate video editing and production. ProPresenter is now available for PC on Windows 7. Sorry Mac guys, it’s no longer exclusive to Mac. I got this image from Renewed Vision’s website. Unfortunately, that is no longer a valid argument. I’ve read a few articles that name ProPresenter as the number one reason why they use Mac for the church. I know the big thing is the software you’re running. In the other campus, they use a Mac with ProPresenter (we haven’t purchased a Windows license for ProPresenter yet). So we run the decks in PowerPoint for worship, then stop the slideshow, in the middle of prayer to start the message video (I may have forgotten to mention that we show a video in our church, that is recorded at our other campus in Ewing). We have had issues with crashing, and severe lagging when video is inserted into the master slide deck. (primitive, I know, but we operate on a very small budget). Not a bad little machine, it does the job (most of the time). Right now, at the campus I attend, we are running on a Windows machine, running Windows 7 圆4. It’s really smooth (and I’m a little jealous, to be honest). You should know that, that MacBook I just listed the specs to, runs just as hot as my brand new computer and starts up faster than my HP dv6. I fixed it up and gave it to my girlfriend, who is very into the graphic arts and picture editing.

will render a 45 minute video in 720p in about a half hour (using Cyberlink PowerDirector 9 圆4) Intel i5 460m 2.53Ghz Dual-Core (simulates Quad-core, for those of you who are not familiar with the new Intel chips)

I’ve been a PC user since I was 13, when I owned my first 386, that my grandfather gave me (although I am only 22, I am old enough to remember the 386). What is better for your church tech team, Mac or PC? I won’t get into the specifics of the issue. I always knew that Mac were supposed to be more “user-friendly” and more savvy in the field of graphic design. It took some getting used to, but I like it, kind of. It was just up until recently, when I started working for my church, that I was forced to start using a Mac.

I, personally, have been a PC guy since I’ve started using a computer (and yes, I am writing this on a PC). One of the biggest debates in the tech community is the question of which is better, Mac or PC.
